WARNING |
||
At present following the introduction of immigration restrictions by the UK government to limit the numbers of Slovaks entering the UK and asking for Political asylum, Slovaks MUST obtain visas before travelling to the UK, as a 'tit for tat' response the Slovak Republic now requires UK citizens to have visas for entry to Slovakia |
||
UPDATE, this rule has now been lifted and UK citizens can now enter Slovakia without visas |
Coach is by far the most popular means of travel to and from Slovakia, Eurolines operates a daily Service From London Victoria to Bratislava.
You can obtain details and latest pricing from any National Express coach office, or some travel agents are also agents for National Express coaches.
Prices vary slightly throughout the year, in the peak period of the Summer a 10 UK Pounds surcharge is added to the normal prices. As a rough guide expect to pay 115 UK Pounds for an Adult Return about 105 UK Pounds for a student, and about 85 UK Pounds for a child.
Add 10 UK Pounds for travel in the summer.
The journey by coach takes 23hrs, leaves Victoria coach station daily at 10:00 (UK Time) and arrives at Bratislava coach station at 10:00 (Slovak Time)
By Air
Air travel to Slovakia is generally limited, flights to Bratislava are possible but, are expensive and irregular. Generally a cheaper and more reliable option is to fly to Vienna, in Austria and travel the final 50km by coach.
Flights to Vienna, are available from several airline companies and availability and times depend on which airport you wish to fly from.
Contact you local travel agent or one of the specialist flight bucket shops for availability.
Flights generally take between 2 hours and 2.5 hours dependant on the airport of origin.
If you have any knowledge or experience of alternative way to get to Slovakia please let me know and I'll add to this page.
